Slavic-core

About the project

A music video that expands Katya Gordon's Slavic animated universe and continues the story of the previous film. Classic characters of Russian folklore — Baba Yaga and Koschei the Deathless — are reimagined and placed in a bright summer meadow and a dense Russian forest. The animation intentionally runs at a lower frame rate for a more hand-drawn, illustrative feel.

What I did

• 01Locations: the summer meadow and the dense forest of the video's universe.
• 02Environment and scene animation timed to the music.
• 03Toon shading: locations shaded in a stylized, hand-drawn manner.
